Get to Know Dr. Cory
Dr. Cory says that the best part of his job is very simple—kids say hilarious things all the time. He’s energized by their wonder and enthusiasm, and they’re able to come up with things that crack him up every day. His goal is to show his young dentistry patients that visiting the dentist can be a fun and educational experience, and he looks forward to putting your child on the path toward a lifetime of optimal oral health. You can learn a little more about Dr. Cory and his background by reading on below.
Why Did You Become a Dentist?
Unlike many dentists, Dr. Cory never dreamed of becoming one. Growing up, he told his parents he wanted to be a vet, and he ultimately went to school for pharmacy. He eventually decided that he wanted to have more face-to-face time with patients, and there’s nothing better than helping people smile and calming nervous or scared children. During dental school, Dr. Cory found himself spending the majority of his free time in the pediatric dental clinic. He decided pediatric dentistry was his passion, and the rest is history.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Cory attended The Ohio State University before moving to Illinois where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Midwestern University. He went on to obtain his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from Case Western Reserve University and the Rainbow Babies & Children’s Hospital in Cleveland, Ohio.
To make sure that his knowledge and skills are always up to date, Dr. Cory is an active member of the:
- American Dental Association
- Illinois State Dental Society
- American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry
Outside the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
